my name is Jessica

So this is the part where I step behind my writings and try to say something interesting about myself to get you to stay a bit longer.

Hmm. This should be interesting.

Beyond the standard introduction that includes my name, Jessica F. Hinton, I must somehow connect my life story to the story that I seek to tell and create through this blog.

Well, here’s my attempt at that.

It was in my dreams to be something of a writer who could create beautiful worlds and sentences that lived in my head. I’ve kept diaries scattered around my bedroom for as long as I can remember. I’ve been writing things, ordinary things and some beautiful things, for as long as I can remember.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve written.

But, until recently, being a writer, becoming a writer were things that I put off.I put them off for paying careers and “practical” purposes and other reasons.

In 2010, I became a mother and with that I changed. I’m no longer putting things off. I am a writer. I’m also a wife, a mom to two beautiful girls, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. A write about these roles here.

I write, here, about everything odd and fun and spunky in my life. I write to release, to practice, to become better.

Through my writings and the stories I tell, sometimes, through the writings on this blog, I hope that you will be inspired to live greatly, to your best potential, and, always, on your own terms.

Always.

Oh, and I should add that I also here about motherhood and self at Jessica F. Hinton and am a senior editor of the site, Baby Gizmo.

Love this attitude and the fact that first, “I am a writer.” 🙂

Thank you! It’s so key to make that declaration!! I think when we name who we are on the inside, we began to take steps to closer to that version of beautiful person on the outside. So, calling myself a writer was first for me.

Come on, join in the fun!
